Bob Freund

Bob Freund serves as Chair of the OASIS Board of Directors; his term extends to July 2012. Mr. Freund represents Hitachi in several Internet-related activities. He has more than 38 years of computer industry experience in hardware, software and systems architecture, design, and development. His electronic engineering accomplishments include the invention of signature transducers used for a US Air Force security system, the design of disk controllers, electronic toys, and IBM-compatible mainframe processor micro-code and channel subsystems. Mr. Freund's recent standards involvement includes participation in the OASIS SCA-Assembly, SCA-Policy, WS-RM, WS-RX, and the WS-TX Technical Committees. He chairs the WS-I Reliable Secure Profile Working Group and has previously chaired the W3C WS-Addressing Working Group.
