Greg Carpenter

Greg Carpenter (greg.carpenter@oasis.org), Director of Technology, brings over two decades of experience as a software developer, architect, researcher, and senior R&D manager to OASIS. Prior to joining OASIS, he was a senior standards professional at Microsoft Corporation where he dealt with the development, interoperability and standardization of Microsoft’s Web Services Architecture specifications and served on the Board of Directors of the Web Services Interoperability Organization (WS-I). His earlier tenure as a senior architect and R&D manager at Nokia Inc. left him with an abiding interest in mobile computing. He started high tech life designing and developing secure, distributed computing platforms at Apollo Computer where he experienced the first (to the best of his knowledge) commercial interstate kernel page faults. Greg is a Master of Software Engineering and holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics. He was one of the first men in the United States (along with Scott Adams) to win the Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow award. Greg is based in Boston.
