Subject: RE: [dita] Requirement for <glossary-sort-as> element
Hi – I think we should take this up in the
Translation subcommittee. I’ll convene a meeting to discuss the issues
and consider bringing this up as a DITA 1.3 proposal. JoAnn JoAnn Hackos PhD President Comtech Services, Inc. joann.hackos@comtech-serv.com Skype joannhackos From: Su-Laine Yeo
[mailto:su-laine.yeo@justsystems.com] Hi
everyone, A
requirement that comes to our attention from time to time is for glossary elements to
include a <glossary-sort-as> element, equivalent to the <index-sort-as>
element. It appears
to be essential for
making a glossary sort
properly in Japanese;
one thing I’ve heard from multiple organizations using DITA is that
no existing tool does correct automatic sorting of Japanese
glossary and index
entries. Deborah
Pickett mentioned this way back in 2007: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/dita-users/message/4829 . Has a proposal been brought forward yet? If not, is it
straightforward enough to consider for DITA 1.2 or should I add it to the 1.3
wishlist? Cheers, Su-Laine Su-Laine Yeo JustSystems Canada, Inc. |
