Subject: Reference Model for Open Architecture for XML Authoring and Localization1.0
Greetings! I was somewhat surprised to find that the draft is devoid of any usage of the control vocabulary defined in 1.5. I realize that as a "reference" model that conformance may be difficult to specify but suggesting that "key" standards or concepts are to be followed by anyone claiming conformance seems rather weak. True enough, the Conformance Guidelines: http://docs.oasis-open.org/templates/TCHandbook/ConformanceGuidelines.html are only suggestive but greater detail in terms of conformance would make it easier for architects to meaningfully claim conformance to the reference model. Hope everyone is having a great day! Patrick PS: As the co-author of a reference model I am not unsympathetic to the issue faced by the TC. I do think it is possible to specify enough detail to make a claim of conformance meaningful and to meet the requirements imposed by OASIS.
