Subject: re Discussion about Naming and Design Rules with respect to UnqualifiedData Types
The UBL Technical Committee have noted and appreciate the comments made on the UBL-dev mailing list regarding the appropriate use of UN/CEFACT's Unqualified Data Type schema. We agree with Mark that there are official and more appropriate channels to raise our concerns on this technical issue within UN/CEFACT and we are preparing a submission accordingly. Meanwhile, we should state that our policy to alignment with UN/CEFACT has not changed in the past 3 years and we consider that great progress has been made into the mutual development of a 'best of breed' set of standards that will support the interoperability of electronic documents. Indeed, we see the requirements identified from the user community as providing valuable input into this process and this issue is a clear case of such feedback.
