Hi Doug,
I’m conferring with Robin as to the
best way to handle this. Clearly these WSDL files are different from the
previous ones and therefore silently updating them without any other action would
not honor OASIS policies.
The namespace documents should be updated to reflect the
new WSDL files; as far as any existing application goes they should
either change the reference, or since it isn’t substantive, not worry
about it. See the following resources (text below from Robin):
"Latest Version" URIs for Schemas, WSDLs,
RDDLs, and Other Specification Components"
http://docs.oasis-open.org/specGuidelines/namingGuidelines/metadata.html#latestVersionURIs-schemas
with note:
http://docs.oasis-open.org/specGuidelines/namingGuidelines/metadata.html#movingTargetExample
One of the concerns (the first) was stated as:
"Clear designation of a "Latest
Version" URI as such"
Example, in the WS-Policy RDDL namespace document, with
respect to the
schema:
http://www.w3.org/ns/ws-policy
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
******* Latest XML Schema: *********
The following URI always points to the latest schema
(including errata) for the Web Services Policy 1.5
namespace. The resource at this location may change
as new errata are incorporated.
http://www.w3.org/2002/ws/policy/ns/ws-policy
******* This dated version of the XML Schema: *******
The following URI points to the schema for the Web
Services Policy 1.5 namespace corresponding to the
2007-09-04 specifications.

Mary,
I've
uploaded a zip file (
http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/ws-rx-editors/download.php/26228/WSRX%20OS01e1.zip
) with the erratas (word, pdf and html versions). I've also placed the
updated wsdl files in there. Schemas were not changed. I've held
off including the OS versions for now - just to save time.
As for updating
the wsdl file names - wouldn't this cause a problem if people have URLs to the
existing ones and we want those references to use the new data?
thanks
-Doug

A couple of other things:
Wsdl files - are there changes to these files or are they the same as
originally
approved as OS?
(if they are the same, I don't need them; if they are different, they will
need
a new file name and updated namespace documents, etc.)
Schema files - same as above
OS versions - These need to be identified as incorporating errata on the
cover,
have new URIs, etc. In reality there is no need to include these in the PR;
this
can be tackled once the errata have been approved post-PR. (they will get
new
status, dates, URIs, etc.) If you *want* to include them in the PR, then
the
filenames should somehow indicate that they are cd status (since the TC
doesn't
use subdirs for this purpose) to avoid a naming conflict once approved.
Thanks!
