Description

Dennis sent a mail (see below) to the OIC TC list, asking if he can be the OIC TC liaison to ISO/IEC JTC1 SC34 WG4. ------------------------------------------------------------------ From: "Dennis E. Hamilton" To: "'Hanssens Bart'" , Date: Mon, 22 Apr 2013 11:48:34 -0700 In June, there is a week of ISO/IEC JTC1 SC34 WG meetings in the Seattle area: WG1 (Markup Languages, working on a Zip-Based Document Container Committee Draft) WG5 (Document Interoperability) WG4 (Office Open XML) I will be attending as an OASIS ODF TC Liaison for WG1 and WG5. My odd request is to be an OASIS OIC TC Liaison to WG4. WG4 meets for most of the week and I am interested in anything that is done there concerning - Open Packaging Conventions (OPC), with respect to Document Container consistency and also any digital signature profiles that are relevant to application of ODF Digital Signatures - Markup Compatibility and Extensibility (MCE) for potential usability in extended ODF documents - Other matters that might be worthy of OIC attention and advisories with regard to profiling ODF applications to provide broader interoperability, such as OpenFormula consistency with OOXML Spreadsheet formulas involving the same functions. (This can be relevant for places where ODF is implementation-defined/-dependent and OOXML might provide opportunities for resilient approaches and also where OpenFormula provides sharpened definitions that would be benefitial for alignment on the OOXML side.) There are also opportunities for other, related discussion with participants (e.g., concerning new versions of ePub). I know it is an odd request. I invite discussion and consideration before the names of OASIS Liaison delegates is submitted prior to 2013-05-31.
