Description

Resolution to form the Implementation Considerations Subcommittee of the OpenC2 Technical Committee Preamble: Whereas the OpenC2 Technical Committee ● was chartered to address matters as they pertain to command and control of cyber defense technologies, and ● the charter defined the drafting of documents, specifications, lexicons, and other artifacts to fulfill the needs of cyber security command and control as being within the scope of the work, and ● the charter acknowledges the need to identify external dependencies and the need to leverage pre-existing standards and provide implementation guidance, Then be it resolved: A subcommittee known as the Implementation Considerations Subcommittee (SC) shall be formed with two coequal chairs and any number of secretaries and document editors as deemed appropriate by the SC; using working methods agreed to by the SC; with the Statement of Purpose per the attached. The SC shall create and deliberate documents and other artifacts which identify external dependencies such as information assurance, transport mechanisms and other aspects of the message fabric, and recommend approaches that facilitate security and interoperability of OpenC2 implementations. Implementation Considerations Subcommittee Co-chairs The initial Implementation Considerations SC co-chairs, as voted at the inaugural meeting of the OpenC2 Technical Committee, shall be: ● Bret Jordan, and ● David Lemire Attachment: Statement of Purpose This OpenC2 Implementation Considerations SC is responsible for identifying and providing guidance for implementation aspects such as message transport, and information assurance (IA). The SC will leverage preexisting standards to the greatest extent practical and it is within scope of this SC to identify gaps as they pertain to command and control of cyber defense technologies. The Implementation Considerations SC shall also maintain a repository of prototype and reference implementations contributed to the OpenC2 Technical Committee. All interested parties are welcome to participate in evolving OpenC2 as part of the OpenC2 Implementation Considerations SC under the main OASIS OpenC2 Technical Committee.
