Folks, I apologize for not bringing this up during our last call, but then we didn't exactly have a normal call two weeks ago as the only two business items were not ready for discussion. Your chair person has a conflict this Wednesday, as I've been invited to speak at a local DITA forum. I'll be speaking during the exact time slot where we normally have our teleconference. Therefore, I won't be able to chair and host the session. If someone else would like to volunteer to host / chair the session, that would be great. Otherwise we'll have to cancel this session. Please give me your input via the three possible answers / comments below. Thanks, Bob

The shared review was hosted on MobileMe.com, which is scheduled for retirement June 30, 2012. Therefore I've archived the comments into this version.

Several of our subcommittee members are involved with the CMS/DITA conference this week and thus will not be able to participate. Also, there's a very interesting DITA Users Group webinar being hosted by the combined Research Triangle Park / Boston DUG that I have scheduled onto my calendar. http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/dita-users/message/26833 That 90-minute session pretty much consumes my allotment for "industry dialog" in a single day. However, if there enough "yes" votes, I'll set up the teleconference and host the session.

Due to an error in the Chair's use of the Live Meeting recording interface, the audio was captured in an offline format (versus the audio + video format hosted at livemeeting.com as intended).

The SIDSC has been working for the past few years on specializations related to the semiconductor industry, and produced a set of specializations for registers and their component parts. While there are other specialized information types related to semiconductors that could be developed in the future, the SIDSC would like to have the ones already developed included as part of DITA 1.3, in order to make them 'official'. We think this will facilitate their adoption. The SIDSC is currently working on updating and improving the already-existing documentation for these modules, and expects to complete that work within the 1.3 time frame.
