A new tool set to support the SET TC goals of facilitating electronic business document interoperability. The new tool set, namely, iSURF eDoCreator provides an online common UN/CEFACT CCTS based document component modeling repository and is available from the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud: http://79.125.15.30:8080/srdc/eDoCreator/ The current version of this tool integrates the machine processable version of the UBL paper-based Naming and Design rules as well as the customization guidelines. In this way, iSURF eDoCreator environment maximizes the re-use of available document building blocks and minimizes the tedious document design and customization efforts. The environment also proved to be very useful in performing the gap analysis between different customizations of UBL. The tool is currently being used as the document design tool (including XML Schema Generation) and the repository for UBL 2.1 Documents. The research leading to these results has received funding from the European Community's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7/2007-2013) under grant agreement n° 213031, the iSURF Project.

The SET specifications and tools are used in order to transform UBL 1.0 instances to UBL 2.0 instances to realize the use case presented by DES Ltd / SystML. The documents contained in this package are as follows: 1. An excel sheet showing the correspondences discovered by the SET tools and specifications. The success rate is 93%. 2. UBL 1.0 Input Invoice document instance 3. UBL 2.0 conformant Output Invoice document instance 4. An example XSLT definition that performs the translation There are mainly four types of differences between UBL 2.0 and UBL 1.0 document schemas: renaming of an element, replacing a BIE with another, removing an element and adding an element. Note that, as the objective of the SET TC is finding relationships between semantically similar elements in different document standards (or between different versions of the same standard), its focus is on renamed and replaced elements.

In the previous version of this presentation, we discovered that we had serious errors in the statistics slide (Slide number 39). Therefore, we updated the statistics slide. In the upcoming meetings we will provide exact statistics. In this presentation, the METU SET TC use case which aims to find similar document components in the planning documents of two document standards namely, the UBL and the GS1 XML will be described. |
