Discretionary items for XSLT and XPath 1.0 are described in XSLTdisc.htm, which is available as a separate download. This document is an alternate rendering of the same base data into a questionnaire. The questions should be answered for each XSLT processor to be tested, in order to account for allowable differences in processors. Some test cases are annotated in the catalog to indicate that they only apply when a particular discretionary behavior has been chosen.

This document was fully outlined, but not all text was written. It serves to explain our intent for usage of the test cases and the associated meta-data.

Originally written for submiiters of test cases, this document has the best explanation of the test-case meta-data in the catalog.xml file. It is intended to set a precedent for such meta-data as an XML vocabulary.

This version has all the document files that might be needed by a user of the test suite, including the skeletal Lab Guide. The catalog.xml file has been cleaned up and expanded to refer to supplemental input files. All the files in the catalog exist except a couple with names like IDontExist.xml, which may be intentional. The catalog also has more discretionary items noted, but many more could have been. A new file, doubts.xml, has been pre-loaded with issues that were brought to our attention up through April 2005, and a Test Lab can put additional annotations here. For best results filter test cases against both the catalog and the doubts list. See the various README.txt files for further detail.
