Timothy had posted Makesh’s question to the list so we started to work though the list:
1) From the spec section 4.1.2 specifically restricts the use of bundling and receipts.
2) Reties should be an identical message – normally theses are archived and replayed except thy could be recreated provide the re-creation is identical. This was a lengthy discussion and was not completely resolved as dale raised concerns about recreation and also the lack of a definitive statement or guidance on the use of signatures and the potential for problems. One concern was to ensure that retries did not look like “replay” attacks.
The use of time was felt beneficial as it allowed a second review of decisions made some months ago with renewed and refreshed eyes able to focus on specific points and questions that may have been superficially passed over during the effort to produce the specification.
Makesh to inform Ian if no e-mails are received from the mailing list as he had re-subscribed to be able to post to the lists.
Drummond group has issued a call for interoperable testing of implementations conforming to the published AS4.
