Description

Please vote Yes if you agree with all of the following. If you disagree, please vote No. If you don't have an opinion, please vote Abstain. I move that: The TC agrees to resolve the following specification issue: Issue #20: virtio network device: support for RSC compatibility with WHCK requirements -------------------------------------- Currently virtio network device supports reassembly of received TCP segments, controlled by feature bits VIRTIO_NET_F_GUEST_TSO4 and VIRTIO_NET_F_GUEST_TSO6. This feature has a gap with Windows hardware compatibility requirements. In addition to packet reassembly it is required to coalesce duplicate ack packets and report number of coalesced segments and number of duplicate acks in the metadata of reported packet. Suggested extension of network device specification includes additional feature bit (extended RSC support) and additional flag bit in virtio network packet header (extended RSC info) which allows to deliver required information in existing header's fields 'csum_start' and 'csum_offset' -------------------------------------- The TC accepts the following proposed changes to the specification: -------------------------------------- http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/virtio-comment/201810/msg00009.html -------------------------------------- The TC agrees to include the above change(s) in specification version(s) "virtio-v1.1-cs01", and future versions of the specification. -------------------------------------- Reminder: A Voting Member must be active in a TC to maintain voting rights. As the Virtio TC has adopted a standing rule to conduct business only by electronic ballot, without Meetings, a Voting Member who fails to cast a ballot in two consecutive Work Product Ballots loses his or her voting rights at the close of the second ballot missed. --------------------------------------
