DITA = topics, maps, and specializations, but do we need to let go of specializations for lwDITA 1.0 (with hopes to address specializations in a future release)? Specializations are mentioned briefly in the spec as originally drafted by Carlos, but users can still specialize xdita, which would require rewriting the DTDs (some entities are currently mentioned). If we decide to include specializations, we will need to rewrite DTDs. However, rewriting DTDs will delay the spec, which the SC has already been working on for ~10 years. Additionally, SC members have limited capacity to work on the spec at this time. Support for limited domain specialization and something else are already in the spec, so we should add a note that weÕre not adding support to the spec. Specializations are beyond the scope of this spec. Link to lwDITA DTDs: https://github.com/oasis-tcs/dita-lwdita/tree/spec/org.oasis.xdita/dtd 3. Metadata elements in a.
