Minutes
We discussed the recent announcement of WSCI - a choreography specification similar to BPML.
Jamie will draft a resolution stating the committee's position on IPR matters related to our specification and post it to the list.
We also discussed Microsoft's SEED, which may be somewhat related to a CPA template or CPP. Jamie has made inquiries with Microsoft "wearing his ABA hat."
Dale has been interacting with Karl Best of OASIS about our version 2.0 submission. Due to IBM's announced IPR claim, companies certifying successful use of the 2.0 specification will have to certify something more, perhaps along the lines that they are aware of the claim. Details are being discussed with OASIS and companies concerned - Sybase and Cyclone Commerce; Dale hasn't heard back yet from XML Global. At the moment, he doesn't see any show stoppers. Dale noted that we need a resolution by the end of the month. At Jamie's request, Dale will see about posting some of the details on the list.
We deferred approving minutes of the recent F2F (so people have more time to read them) and the May 31 teleconference (pending circulation on the list of Jamie's "six points").
Tentatively, Sybase will host our July teleconferences; Hima will let Dale know next week.
Hima promoted the marketing value of showing ebXML alignment with Web Services specifications wherever possible. Dale noted that WSDL is currently subject to "conceptual realignment" and is at least aligning with MEPS (Message Exchange Patterns) of SOAP 1.2. Hima expressed concern about possibly diverging WSDL work being done by WSI and W3C.
David's motion to adjourn was seconded by Jean and unanimously approved.
Next Meeting
There will be another teleconference next week on June 21.
