Minutes of CPPA Negotiation Conference Call Oct. 9, 2002

Attendees:  Marty Sachs, Monica Martin, Dale Moberg, Hima Mukkamala

Hima expects to have an update to the BPSS instance and (probably) the NCPA by the end of this week. Marty will then incorporate the BPSS instance and NCPA into the draft specification and post the draft to the list, if possible, by the end of next week.

Hima proposed that we start the calls at 2 pm US Eastern time for 1 hour. Marty, Dale, and Monica all agreed. Marty said that he would poll the list server and announce the results on next week’s call. The group agreed to make the change effective November 6 so that it would not be necessary to reschedule the October calls with the conferencing service.

Hima asked whether we are tied to BPSS for version 1.  He wondered about providing for alternative choreography descriptions such as BPEL4WS. Marty expressed doubt that we have the “people” resources to do anything on an alternative choreography by the end of December when our draft is supposed to be complete. He also pointed out that BPEL4WS isn’t a public standard yet and hasn’t even been submitted to a standards body. He also noted that the specification says that BPSS is not REQUIRED and that the specification will include a “vanilla” flow chart of the choreography so that it will be well explained separately from BPSS. He said that it would be great if someone wanted to make a try at a BPEL4WS representation of the choreography that the team could chew on.

The call was adjourned at 3:25 PM US Eastern time.

Respectively submitted,

Marty Sachs
