Minutes of CPPA Negotiation Conference Call Nov. 13, 2002

Attendees:  Neelakantan Kartha,  Monica Martin, Dale Moberg,  Marty Sachs, Jean Zheng

All of the attendees present agreed to a starting time of 3.00 pm EST for the calls starting in January.  Marty will post a note to the list in the first week of December, asking whether there is anyone for which this time is not suitable.

There was discussion, prompted by Monica’s comments, about whether the replies should always be synchronous. Dale suggested adding an element to the message schema for an element for the url of an asynchronous response. Jean agreed to consider this suggestion.

Kartha pointed out that within the message, there needs to be pointers to the NDDs of the CPPs (even though the negotiation is being done on the CPAs). He suggested adding

NDDs  of  CPPs as optional elements under the BusinessDocument element. Jean agreed to consider this suggestion.

Kartha promised to post his comments on the negotiation message section to the list soon.

Continuing the discussion on the list of the negotiation of business process instance documents (started by Marty on 11/11/2002), a concern was raised by Dale as to  whether changing the business process instance might also require changes in the action context, some hrefs etc. Dale will look into this matter further and post his comments. In the meantime, Marty will change the text so as to warn the reader that only simple modifications of the  instance document are recommended, and more complicated modifications require changes elsewhere.

Dale will ask Hima about current schemas for business signals that we need to complete the negotiation spec.

Marty pointed out again that there are places in the draft (highlighted in bold)  where the team needs to come to consensus and that he has not received comments on these from anyone except Kartha. He encouraged everyone to read through  these sections and send comments to the list. He suggested that starting December, the team meet for an extra half hour (that is, from 2:00-3:30 EST) and go over these one by one. There was consensus on this suggestion. Cyclone agreed to host the calls for December.

The group decided that there will be no calls the week of thanksgiving (that is, on Nov 27, 2002).

The call was adjourned at 2:45 PM US Eastern time.

Respectfully submitted,

Neelakantan Kartha
