CPPA Negotiation Conference Call 10/30/2002 3-4 EST

Attendees: Kartha, Marty, Hima, Jean, Dale

Draft Specification discussion:

Kartha’s Comment 1: NCPA line 5.1 Section, 2nd paragraph after the initial bullet list:

“Also in the registry are one or more standardized NCPA templates, which are complete CPAs except for party identification and endpoint addresses. Associated with each Party’s CPP is an NCPA, based on one of the standard NCPA templates, containing that Party’s Party identification information and transport endpoint address.

Suggested Changes:

1.Delete “Associated with each Party’s CPP is an NCPA, based on one of the standard NCPA templates, containing that Party’s Party identification information and transport endpoint address.”

2. It might not be necessary to provide this type of flexibility that enables each party to supply its own NCPA.

3. Kartha will send out a detailed replacement to this paragraph after the conference call.

Kartha’s Comment 2: Possible confusion between Negotiation Protocol defined by BPSS and Negotiation Algorithm which is the private process that is used by each party.

Suggested Changes:

  1. Add one more bullet under 5.1 (describes Fig. 1) to explain the difference between these two.
  2. Add a Negotiation Algorithm box to each Party in Fig. 1.

Kartha’s Comment 3: For Fig 2, delete Party B box, since it is incomplete; or add one box under Party B to state it is similar to Party A.  The latter is probably a better idea.

Kartha’s Comment 4: Change “Partner Discovery” to “Partner Discovery of A by B”

Kartha’s Comment 5: Paragraph before Fig. 2:

“Concluding Negotiation” needs more clarification (see Kartha’s email for more details):

Marty will send out a pdf version of the spec after the call to ensure that everyone is working with the same version with no differences in line numbering.

Kartha will post all his comments in more details to the list server based on Marty’s pdf spec.

Respectfully submitted,

Jean Zheng
