| Minutes | The meeting starter with informal discussion Qourum was reached during the meeting with dF, Tom, Bryan, and Phil, 4/5 voters in attendance. Rodolfo attended first of two consecutive quorum meetings to re-gain his voting rights after recently re-joinig the cpmmittee. We discussed technical and tactical issues. We expect IBM to renew the active participation due to their recent XLIFF implementation efforts. We discussed tactics how to possibly bring TDC onto the committee. The TC brainstormed possible future directions Rodolfo suggested that the XLIFF community needs guidance on transition from 1.2 to 2.2. We discussed developing a Commitee note that would give 1.2<->2.x transposition exmaples along with tools. Suggestion to relate with the TAPICC exatraction and merging guidance that the TC own for maintenance. Rodolfo also suggested that fixing the 2.1 validation articfacts should be one of the prioroties of the work on 2.2 Discussion of inclusion of LISA standards. dF: WRT TBX: mapping exists and is being developed in the sister committee (XOMOS TC). WRT TMX: Work on usage of XLIFF for TM exchange is needed. Work on TMX maintenance or next version is legally impossible due to ETSI ovenrship of the IP. TC Note should explain how to use Translation Candidates module along with core for TM exchange. WRT SRX: IBM (Steven) has interest in being able to roundtrip segmentation information. This is a registered 2.2 feature https://wiki.oasis-open.org/xliff/FeatureTracking 2.3. Segmentation Method Roundtrip Owner: Steven L. Importance: Uncategorized Category: Data Model Module to specify and keep track of segmentation method changes. Ability to track segmentation methods. WRT GMX-V: Work on wordcounting standardisation needs to be done in Unicode. After this is done, XLIFF c.an develop a wordcounting module. TC agreed that Secretary (dF) makes a Doodle poll for next meeting on 4th or 18th February. TC will be also polled on the possibility of resuming meeting two times monthly on 1st and 3rd Tuesdays each month. Discussion of prioritization of work. Both Rodolfo and dF seemed in favor of solving technical issues. dF expressed his bias that as much as possible should be made part of the 2.2 release. Meeting was adjourned 1600 UTC. |
