15-day Public Review for #WS-Calendar Platform Independent Model (PIM) V1.0 – ends September 22nd

The OASIS Web Services Calendar (WS-Calendar) TC members [1] have produced an updated Committee Specification Draft (CSD) and submitted this specification for 15-day public review:

WS-Calendar Platform Independent Model (PIM) Version 1.0
Committee Specification Draft 03 / Public Review Draft 03
15 August 2014

Specification Overview:

The Platform Independent Model is an abstract model that will be used as the basis for determining conformance of additional models and communications with WS-Calendar and with Xcal, which is based on IETF RFCs.

This is a Platform Independent Model following the Object Management Group’s Model-Driven Architecture.

The Platform Dependent Model that this specification abstracts from is the full model for WS-Calendar as expressed in XML (xCal).

TC Description:

The OASIS WS-Calendar TC works to adapt existing calendaring standards (used in human interactions) for Web services. WS-Calendar is designed for use inside other specifications and standards, bringing a common scheduling and performance alignment to service coordination, including between domains.

The Committee bases its initial work on the iCalendar (IETF RFC 5545) XML serialization specification from CalConnect.

Public Review Period:

The public review starts 8 September 2014 at 00:00 UTC and ends 22 September 2014 at 23:59 UTC. The specification was previously submitted for public review [2]. This 15-day review is limited in scope to changes made from the previous review. Changes are highlighted in the diff-marked PDF file [3].

This is an open invitation to comment. OASIS solicits feedback from potential users, developers and others, whether OASIS members or not, for the sake of improving the interoperability and quality of its technical work.
