(PR) 15-day Public Review for SCA Policy Framework Version 1.1 and Testcases

The OASIS Service Component Architecture / Policy (SCA-Policy) TC [1] members have produced two updated Committee Specification Drafts (CSD) and submitted them for 15-day public review:

SCA Policy Framework Version 1.1
Committee Specification Draft 05 / Public Review Draft 03
05 December 2011

and

TestCases for the SCA Policy Framework Version 1.1
Committee Specification Draft 03 / Public Review Draft 03
25 July 2011

Specification Overview:
SCA Policy specification provides a framework to support specification of constraints, capabilities and QoS expectations from component design through to concrete deployment. The capture and expression of non-functional requirements is an important aspect of service definition and has an impact on SCA throughout the lifecycle of components and compositions. This specification describes the SCA policy association framework that allows policies and policy subjects specified using WS-Policy and WS-PolicyAttachment, as well as with other policy languages, to be associated with SCA components.

TestCases for the SCA Policy Framework defines the TestCases for the SCA Policy specification. The TestCases represent a series of tests that an SCA runtime must pass in order to claim conformance to the requirements of the SCA Policy specification.

TC Description:
The SCA Policy technical committee defines a policy framework for the core SCA Assembly model.

Public Review Period:
The public review starts 12 December 2011 and ends 27 December 2011. The specification was previously submitted for a 15-day public review [2]. This 15-day review is limited in scope to changes made from the previous review. Changes are highlighted in the diff-marked PDF file [3].

This is an open invitation to comment. OASIS solicits feedback from potential users, developers and others, whether OASIS members or not, for the sake of improving the interoperability and quality of its technical work.
