Drummond Reed was recognized as an OASIS Distinguished Contributor in 2013. He is co-founder and Managing Director of Respect Network, a new personal cloud network based on the XDI OASIS Standard for semantic data interchange. Drummond has co-chaired the OASIS XDI Technical Committee since its founding in 2004. He also co-chaired the OASIS XRI Technical Committee during its development of the XRDS and XRD web discovery protocols. Drummond has focused on Internet identity, data sharing, reputation systems, and trust infrastructure for the past 20 years. In 2002 he received the Digital Identity Pioneer Award from Digital ID World. In addition to his work at OASIS, Drummond has been very active in development of non-profit organizations to promote digital trust infrastructure. In 1999 he was a founding board member of the International Security, Trust, and Privacy Association (chaired by OASIS Distinguished Contributor, John Sabo). In 2000 he was a co-founder of XDI.org and currently serves as its Interim Chairman. In 2004 he was a founding board member of Identity Commons; in 2005 of the OpenID Foundation, and in 2007 of the Information Card Foundation. In 2009 he became the Executive Director of the Information Card Foundation, and in 2010 also began serving as the inaugural Executive Director of the Open Identity Exchange, the first international clearinghouse for digital trust frameworks. In 2011 he co-authored with Scott David the Respect Trust Framework that forms the legal foundation for the Respect Network and defines the P2P reputation system implemented by Connect.Me. The Respect Trust Framework and Connect.Me were honored with the Privacy Award at the 2011 European Identity Conference.
