ODF Adoption Technical Committee Meeting Minutes, Meeting of May 2nd, 2006 ========================================== Roll Call ======= Charles Schultz, Ars Arperta Alan Mines, IBM Don Harbison, IBM Martha Mealy, IBM Alan Clark, Novell Mary McRae, OASIS Gary Edwards, OpenDocument Foundation Ryan Singer, OpenDocument Foundation Louis Suarez-Potts, Individual (OpenOffice.org) Erwin Tenhumberg, Sun Microsystems Minutes of meeting on 25th April 2006 ===================================== The minutes were accepted without revision. Agenda ======= The proposed agenda was accepted. ISO Ballot ========== It was understood that the ODF Submission had been approved without opposition. White Paper =========== It was agreed that a high level presentation would be prepared covering the areas of interest for the White Paper. This would enable a start to be made in breaking down what is a major piece of work. Erwin would coordinate the production of these slides. The following areas of responsibility were agreed:- Accessibility - Don Local Government - Charles Screenshots - Alan Symposium ========= Arrangements for the San Francisco meeting were discussed and agreed. The committee agreed that other face to face meetings should be considered, the following were possible candidates:- Linux World, San Francisco, August (also UK event in London - October) http://www.linuxworld.com Open Office Conference, Lyon, September http:// marketing.openoffice.org/ooocon2006/index.html World Wide Web conference, Edinburgh, May http://www2006.org/ OASIS Standard day in Wiesbaden, Germany, November http://www.oasis-open.org/news/open_standard_day.php It was suggested that we develop a consistent message / theme we want to push at these meetings. This would be discussed in San Francisco. OSDL Desktop Working Group ========================== Don spoke briefly on this topic. Waldo Sebastian is also involved in this area. Other Items =========== It was agreed that getting Universities interested in ODF would be very useful. There were various ways to do this although funding research projects was probably the most effective. This would be reviewed in San Francisco. It was noted that there was a gap in coverage on the committee from the Latin America and Asia Pacific regions. There was some Chinese interest in joining and this would be followed up. It was agreed there would be no telephone call on the 9th May due to the face to face meeting. The meeting was adjourned at this stage.
