Subject: Re: [staff-bizdev-workshops] A frank talk with ChatGPT

As an example, we want to find people who are stakeholders in the subject area. Ask ChatGPT for conferences and workshops on the topic. Follow the leads, get the names of panelists, look them up on LinkedIn. Again, I'm thinking 'jumpstart'. I agree 100% about our own voice and language being crucial.

Of course. Â I'm not sure, but it sounds like a lot of people are using it that way.

I'm not suggesting AI do it for us. I read that article too. I do think it can be a quick jump-start on our research which we then need to verify.

That might be a lot of fun. On the other hand, of course, you'll have to check to see if any of the sites, articles and thought leaders are in fact, real. Â

Because our staff meeting last Thursday was canceled, we haven't had as much of a chance as I'd like to talk about how this project will work. ÂÂ

Sorry to say, it's probably a little early to conclude that we can have AI do it for us, instead of putting some individual thought pieces.Â

I sat down to have a conversation with ChatGPT about market challenges to the circular economy. You have undoubtedly heard about Chat in the news,Âgood,Âbad, and alarming. Well, I thought I would see how it could support our Visioneering program. The conversation we had was as enlighteningÂto the capabilities of the software as itÂwas educational about the project at hand.Â

How did it go? See for yourself: here is the transcript of our conversation:Â

Now I'm not suggesting we get lazy and useÂtheÂbot toÂphone it in. But, in 20 minutes and with a few leading questions, I got a jump start on the market research, including a discussion of market challenges and failures, a discourse on the opportunities for standards, and 14 key thought leaders in the space.Â

Have a read and tell me what you think. I'm already formulating more questions to probe into specifics. This may well be a tool we can use to prepare the materials to guide the workshops.Â

Perhaps I can do a demo at the next team call?Â
