Subject: RE: [uddi-spec] RE: OASIS UDDI TC Submission of UDDI V2 as an OASISStandard
Matthew, It would appear that we are the first TC requesting to move a Committee Spec to standardization following the Boards new policies on the OASIS standards process (http://oasis-open.org/committees/process.shtml#standards_process). It appears that we need to be more thorough in our submission. In the interest of not having another failed attempt, Tom and I are going to have to regroup in January to prepare the submission and make the announcements necessary. Unfortunately, Tom is out on vacation and I've run out of time do so, thus the need to delay this submission - regrettably. We'll discuss this in more detail at the 9 Jan telecon. Given this delay, I do want to take the opportunity to proceed to accept the updates to the v2 tModels offered at http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/uddi-spec/200212/msg00037.html. I would like the TC to accept these updates on the 9th and start the 30-day clock from that point. I suspect that the recent updates to the v2 tModel documentation might invalidate the "Review must take place for a minimum of 30 days, during which time no changes may be made to the document." part of the process (but then we need to definte what the document is - I assume all documents listed at http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/uddi-spec/tcspecs.shtml#uddiv2 under UDDI v2 Specfications). On the assumption that these are the documents and there are no pending action points for revision, shall we propose a motion (either for vote via e-mail or at the next TC teleconference), that we open the specifications for public review as preparation for submitting them for consideration as an OASIS standard, and announce this in the appropriate places? I'm happy to propose this if Tom and Luc are happy that we are ready to proceed on this. Matthew
