Key focus:
approach on supporting block types of questions

Other key items:
support groupings / collections of questions
new sorting question type
adding classification metadata / taxonomy support

1.
Block questions
Do questions need titles? Most folks are not using titles for questions at all.

If we specialize the new lcQuestionBase off of div>, then would we specialize a new lcInteractionBase off of section>? This would only work if div> is allowed in section> in the new 1.3 (see http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/download.php/44922/proposal-13023.html
 )

lcInteractions are available wherever fig is allowed in the current model, so it should stay. Mark said they do intersperse questions in some of the content for things like checkpoints, etc.

If specialize on section, it may not be allowed in many places.

Next step: outline a proposal based on the following lcInteractionBase specialization options:
div

Should lcInteractionBase still be specialized off of fig> and then base the new lcQuestionBase off of div> instead?

Scott proposes lcBlockQuestion as the new type names.

Need to create a mockup proposal to validate the approach. If div> is specialized, then we would not be able to include a title, as div> explicitly has not title.

Perhaps specialize p> within div> as an optional lcQuestionTitle?

Scott: if we specialize lcBlockQuestion off of div> and div> is allowed in fig> as part of DITA 1.3, then we should be able to leave lcInteractionBase alone (except allowing lcBlockQuestion as an optional element)!

John to outline a proposed approach for the new specialization approach.

Scott: since won
’t be hear next week, would like to express support for building a Question Pool based off of map.

meeting adjourned.
