Overview

The purpose of the OASIS Business Transactions TC is to develop technology for business transactions on the Internet. The first specification, Business Transaction Protocol (BTP), is an eXtensible Markup Language (XML)-based protocol for representing and seamlessly managing complex, multi-step business-to-business (B2B) transactions over the Internet. The protocol allows complex XML message exchanges to be tracked and managed as loosely coupled "conversations" between and among businesses.

Technical Work Produced by the Committee

Business Transaction Protocol (BTP) 1.0, Committee Specification, June 2002.

BTP Revision 1.1, Committee Draft, November 2004.

A zip file of the specification document set is available. The Committee Specification, Primer and the xml schemas (state.xsd, core.xsd, qualifiers.xsd) are available as separate documents. An index page to all the old (pre-kavi) documents, which are still in their old place is now available.
