Whereas it is in the interests of the TC that the work of the committee be disseminated as freely as possible, and that the work of individual members of the committee not be hindered, but also that the TC has a legitimate interest in insuring that the work of the committee is not misrepresented, and that the general membership of the TC is aware of the activities of individual members of the TC when they act in their capacity as members of the TC,
Therefore it is resolved that the following policies be adopted governing the publication, by members of the TC, of work being done by the TC, to wit:
First, that committee members who will be giving a presentation about the work of the committee in their capacity as a member, i.e. the member has identified himself or herself as a committee member, the member shall inform the co-chairs and the committee mailing list by email in advance of giving the presentation;
Second, that committee members who wish to reproduce work product of the TC or its sub-committees which has not been made available to the public, must obtain approval from the co-chairs. The co-chairs will review the proposed publication for the sole purpose of insuring that the proposed publication does not portray the TC's non-public work product as the conclusions or policies of the TC or its sub-committees. |
