Description
At today’s meeting, the group finished defining the sitrep common elements and proceeded to discuss how to group these elements into message categories. Since perhaps 90% of situations are everyday events, the group expressed the desire to ensure there was a concise basic sitrep message to ensure wide application of the standard. The group discussed ways to ensure compliance with the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM), as well as the basic sitrep components describing the "WHO" and the "WHAT". Five categories of messages were identified: Admin, Casualty/Illness, Org/Agency Structure, Response/Resources, Decision Support.
