During our April 17, 2012 meeting, discussion came up about creating a new OASIS technical committee that would encapsulate biometric web services in general. This new TC would have a broad scope, allowing us to work on projects other than BIAS. It is a difficult and lengthy process to create a new TC, and even more so to change the scope of an existing TC--to avoid the dilemma of this roadblock in the future, a TC with a very broad scope seems ideal. If a new, broad TC is agreed upon and created, future work on BIAS would then be moved to the new TC. This is an INFORMAL ballot to get the opinions and thoughts of all BIAS TC members. Voting one way or another will not have result in any official actions. The ballot is open until 11:59 EST on May 4, 2012. Comments/suggestions are more than encouraged when voting. Please provide any ideas or thoughts about a way forward. If you do not support this, please add comments explaining your thoughts so we can better plan the TCs future.
