Meeting Minutes - January 18, 2008 Attendees: David Ferrucci, Adam Lally, Pascal Coupet, Carl Mattocks, Eric Nyberg Reviewing latest changes to slides: * Slide 37: Example of Annotation Model Extension If use KLT example need to provide KLT IP to OASIS Pascal: TEMIS may be willing to contribute some example type systems. (This is useful to explain spec and stimulate discussion, but UIMA TC does not want to get into defining a standard common type system.) Carl: There are ways within OASIS to publish and share examples, but not as part of the spec itself. * Slide 48: Eric, Pascal agreed that Type-level Behavioral Metadata Elements are enough, at least for the first version of the spec. We should note in the spec that this is an area where additional elaboration could be done in the future, and describe the issues involved. The slides do not sufficiently describe exactly what's happening here - we may want to extend them. * Slide 62: Last bullet should just be a sub-title. * Slide 63: Adding text bullets associated with each motion would make this more clear. Pascal: Does the whole CAS have to be returned? Adam: XMI has a delta language we can use. This could be more clear in the slide. That completes our formal review of the slides. Next steps: We will do another pass on the slides, addressing the comments made today. Then we will open a web ballot so members can vote to approve the presentation. Next we will start on shaping the research report into a rough first draft of the spec. We should plan for doing some marketing to make people aware of the forthcoming spec. OASIS can help - Carl has used OASIS Webinars for this purpose. We can contact Jamie Clark for support.
