Minutes

Attendees:

Jason Zech

Scott Hudson

1. Accept minutes from previous meeting. ACCEPTED.

2. Status of Open Action Items:

* Identify samples of eLearning content we could use in our development CONTINUED
* Review best practices in eLearning structures CONTINUED
* Add / expand use-cases to the wiki CONTINUED
* Review DITA Learning Subcommittee and think about what we can learn from them. CONTINUED
* Start markup of approved example and identify gaps. CONTINUED

3. Discuss DITA Learning approach.

* Agree on same basic constructs, though overview and summary appear to be redundant. May be able to consolidate several of these with content since we are not as constrained as the topic model.

* Should we look at LRMI (http://www.lrmi.net/the-specification) since it is creative commons license and fairly straightforward? Any reason to go with IEEE LOM instead? Are there any legal issues reusing these? Dublin Core should be allowed (as is with Publishers), but will definitely need additional eLearning-specific metadata

4. Review of Writing Matters sample:

* Jason will try to mark up some of the Writing Editorials unit. Scott to try to create an assembly based on the course.

5. Get the word out!

* Need more active participants. Try to get the word out on this effort and see if we can gain some additional participation.

6. NEXT MEETING: July 27
