Minutes

[08:54] KenBaclawski: Eric reported on the social network subcommittee of the CMIS TC. The focus is on defining properties and behaviour rather than on defining new object classes.

[08:55] KenBaclawski: Ken is still working on the CMIS profile for ICOM, but has nothing to report at the moment.

[09:04] PeterYim: see OntologySummit2014 Track arrangement (tentative) - http://ontolog.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?OntologySummit2014/GettingOrganized#nid42BA

[09:07] PeterYim: Need help and support from you guys!

[09:12] PeterYim: Eric: wrt Big Data, Ontology can contribute both to the Variety issues, and the Process issues

[09:12] PeterYim: Ken: ref. OODA Loop - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OODA_loop and the JDL Model (as used in Data Fusion)

[09:17] PeterYim: need to address the ICOM TC size (# of active members) and quorum issue ... since this is our last meeting for the year

[09:25] PeterYim: we also need to formally collect the "statements of use" for ICOM, to promote that to an OASIS Standard ... noting that one of three (minimum) users needs to be an OASIS Corproate member

[09:25] PeterYim: ^Corporate

[09:25] PeterYim: with Oracle, Ontolog, we need at least one more

[09:25] PeterYim: Eric: it could be OASIS themselves

[09:28] KenBaclawski: Once I have finished the CMIS profile for ICOM, we can use Chemistry to produce a minimal reference implementation for ICOM. It would not be very competitive commercially but it would satisfy the conformance requirement.

[09:29] KenBaclawski: Eric can help my students with the ICOM JPA framework.

[09:33] KenBaclawski: The OASIS content could be another statement of use. This could build on Chemistry or on Beehive. There are some interesting challenges with either approach.

[09:41] PeterYim: next meeting, same time Wed 2014.01.08

[09:44] PeterYim: in the mean time, Happy Holidays, everyone!

[09:44] PeterYim: -- session ended: 12:44pm EST --
