Agenda

The newly formed OSLC Member Section Domains TC at OASIS is currently focused on updating OSLC specifications to OASIS formatting standards.  This meeting will go over the infrastructure and procedures for editing documents, and start scheduling document editing activities, assignments and deliverables..

The OSLC Domains Technical Committee (Domains TC) charter http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/oslc-domains/lists the specifications that need to be migrated.

  • Architecture Management 2.1 (has new draft)
  • Asset Management 2.1
  • Automation 2.2
  • Performance Monitoring 2.1
  • Quality Management 2.1
  • Requirements Management 2.1 (has new draft)

This meeting will provide some guidance showing what is needed to produce and review draft specifications that can be submitted for public review.  It could be used to gain a little more familiarity with the specs, or to introduce someone to our work with standards organizations.

Specifically we will investigate the mechanics to get you started:

  1. Source documents,
  2. OASIS GitHub access (SCM, Issues, Wiki) [no need to have a github account]
  3. Templates
  4. introduction to ReSpec.  Nick can explain how to leverage this,
    • look at the examples at https://github.com/ndjc/respec/tree/feature/oasis-style/examples/oasis-oslc, and use the current specs as templates:

OSLC uses ReSpec for document processing. ReSpec is a JavaScript app that uses a JSON configuration object and HTML markup to generate a lot of the OASIS boilerplate and content. There are ReSpec templates already created for these documents that are ready for moving content from the open-services.net versions. The only tools you need are a good text editor and web browser.

Other sample documents (OSLC Core and CM) to use as formatting guidelines

  • OSLC Core 3.0 at https://tools.oasis-open.org/version-control/browse/wsvn/oslc-core/trunk/specs/oslc-core.htmland the other parts thereof
  • OSLC Configuration Management 1.0 at https://tools.oasis-open.org/version-control/browse/wsvn/oslc-ccm/trunk/specs/config-mgt/oslc-config-mgt.html
