Sursen believes it has one unpublished CN patent applications, containing one or more claims which, if allowed and issued, are potentially essential to compliant implementations of UOML Part 1 Version 1.0 or Version 1.1 (in preparation).

Sursen will, upon written request, provide a nonexclusive, royalty free patent license, with other reasonable terms and conditions for patents issued to Sursen which contain claims essential to implement the UOML Part 1 Version 1.0 or Version 1.1 (in preparation) specifications, and for which Sursen is able to provide patent licenses (including patents issuing on the above published and unpublished patent application), for implementing the UOML Part 1 Version 1.0 or Version 1.1 (in preparation) specifications. Such a license may be contingent on receiving a royalty-free license to all claims that the licensee has or acquires in the future and are essential to implementing the UOML Part 1 Version 1.0 or Version 1.1 (in preparation) specifications. Should those requesting a patent license also have essential claims to the OASIS UOML specifications, Sursen will grant the patent license provided that the recipient, in return, will grant Sursen a reciprocal license to their essential claim(s).
