OASIS Board of Directors approves a Code of Conduct

The code documents the values we stand for and the standards of professional conduct we expect.

At its meeting on October 13 and 14 the OASIS Board of Directors approved a Code of Conduct to apply to all activities of the consortium.

The purpose of the Code of Conduct is to document the values we stand for and the standards of professional conduct we expect from one another. The process document gives instructions for reporting an incident and describes the steps we will take in response.

The code is published on the OASIS Policies & Guidelines page and can be found at https://www.oasis-open.org/policies-guidelines/oasis-participants-code-of-conduct/. A description of the reporting and response process is also available at https://www.oasis-open.org/policies-guidelines/code-of-conduct-incident-reporting-and-response-process/.

This code was adapted from the widely-used Contributor Covenant, version 2.1, available at https://www.contributor-covenant.org/version/2/1/code_of_conduct.html.

Projects that have already adopted a Code of Conduct can continue working under their version so long as nothing in it conflicts with or contradicts the OASIS version.

The Board invites feedback from members and project participants on these documents. Feedback can be provided by sending email to oasis-board-comment@lists.oasis-open.org. Suggestions for improvements will be brought the Board’s Governance committee or Process committee for consideration.
