Abbie Barbir, Ph.D., was recognized as an OASIS Distinguished Contributor in 2009. Abbie is VP, Senior Security Architect with Bank of America. He is an executive architect well versed in Enterprise Security Architecture (ESA), Identity Management, Web Services Security, Software Design, Data Encryption, Project Manager, Product Development and R&D. He has excellent experience in Integrated Identity Infrastructure (includes IDM, IAM), Risk Management, Threat Analysis, Encryption, Compliance and Integration in Cloud Security. A renowned author, inventor, speaker and a team leader in the security space, Abbie has a solid reputation for innovation, versatility and leadership skills.
Abbie served on the OASIS Board of Directors from 2011 to 2013. He has been involved in the formation of several OASIS Technical Committees including CloudAuthZ, TrustElevation, Identity Metasystem Interoperability (IMI), and Open Reputation Management Systems (ORMS). In 2005, he represented OASIS to ITU-T and was instrumental in having the ITU-T consent the SAML and XACML OASIS Standards as ITU-T Recommendations. Abbie holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, USA.
