Elysa Jones

Elysa Jones was recognized as an OASIS Distinguished Contributor in 2009. She chairs the OASIS Emergency Management Technical Committee and serves on the OASIS Emergency Interoperability Member Section Steering Committee. She represents Warning Systems, a provider of public alert and notification systems. Elysa is well recognized as a leader in the emergency management community. She served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Partnership for Public Warning and also works closely with the Emergency Interoperability Consortium. Under her leadership, the Emergency Management Technical Committee developed the first emergency data standard for communicating warnings, the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP), as well as the Emergency Data Exchange Language (EDXL) suite of standards for defining content based routing assertions for any emergency data. Elysa holds a Master of Science Degree in Computer Science from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
