John Tolbert was recognized as an OASIS Distinguished Contributor in 2014. He is Cyber Security Architect at The Boeing Company. Joining OASIS in 2005, John has played a pivot role in defining identity management and security standards. As one of the first adopters of SAML, John was instrumental in making SAML the ubiquitous standard that it is today. Through Boeing, he helped influence the global aerospace community to make SAML the basis for identity federation in that industry.
John has also been a major contributor to XACML 3.0 core, and creator of XACML profiles for export control, intellectual property protection, data loss prevention, and network access control. In addition, he has been active in the OpenDocument, CloudAuthZ, and IDCloud TCs.
