Customer Data Platform v1.0 from CXS TC approved as a Committee Specification

OASIS is pleased to announce that Customer Data Platform Version 1.0 from the OASIS Context Server (CXS) TC [1] has been approved as an OASIS Committee Specification.

This specification aims to standardize exchange of customer data across systems and silos by defining a web-based API using GraphQL.

The CXS TC was chartered to create specifications for a Customer Data Platform (CDP) as a core technology for enabling the delivery of personalized user experiences. The goal is to assist organizations that currently struggle to create and deliver consistent personalized experiences across channels, markets, and systems. The CDP will simplify management, integration, and interoperability between solutions providing services like Web Content Management, CRM, BigData, Machine Learning, Digital Marketing, and Data Management Platforms. It can support standardized ways of complying with requirements for customer privacy and consent management.

This Committee Specification is an OASIS deliverable, completed and approved by the TC and fully ready for testing and implementation.

Members of the CXS TC [1] approved this specification by Special Majority Vote. The specification had been released for public review as required by the TC Process [2]. The vote to approve as a Committee Specification passed [3], and the document is now available online in the OASIS Library as referenced above.

Our congratulations to the TC on achieving this milestone and our thanks to the reviewers who provided feedback on the specification drafts to help improve the quality of the work.
