30-day Public Review for Test Assertions Model and Markup Language Version 1.0 and Test Assertions Guidelines Version 1.0

The OASIS Test Assertions Guidelines (TAG) TC [1] members have recently approved the following Committee Specification Drafts (CSD) and submitted them for 30-day public review:

– Test Assertions Part 1 – Test Assertions Model Version 1.0
Committee Specification Draft 03 / Public Review Draft 03
15 August 2011

– Test Assertions Part 2 – Test Assertion Markup Language Version 1.0
Committee Specification Draft 03 / Public Review Draft 03
08 September 2011

– Test Assertions Guidelines Version 1.0
Committee Specification Draft 06 / Public Review Draft 03
15 August 2011

Specification Overview:

Test Assertions Model defines a model for Test Assertions that are associated with a specification, and defines their use and semantics.

Test Assertion Markup Language defines an XML markup for test assertions conforming to the model defined in the OASIS TAG TC Test Assertions Part 1, Test Assertions Model.

Test Assertions Guidelines provides guidelines and best practices for writing test assertions. Although it is based on the test assertion model specified in OASIS (by the Test Assertions Guidelines TC), it can be used as a stand-alone guide.

TC Description:
The TC aims at improving the quality of standards by facilitating the creation and use of test assertions by OASIS committees and others.

Public Review Period:

The public review starts Monday, 3 October 2011 and ends Wednesday, 2 November 2011.

This is an open invitation to comment. OASIS solicits feedback from potential users, developers and others, whether OASIS members or not, for the sake of improving the interoperability and quality of its technical work. These specifications were previously submitted for a 30-day public review on 16 September 2010 [2]. This 30-day review is limited in scope to changes made from the previous review.

Changes are highlighted in the diff-marked PDF files [3].
